Dayton Harlow here. Not really sure what to say about myself honestly. I'm pretty boring really. I guess the most interesting thing about me is that I'm a mutt. Though that has led me to have some trouble with identifying who I am and what I should do with my life. I don't remember anything about my real family, but the Harlows were kind enough to take me into their home.
Is is too much to just ask for everything to just fall into place?
Hey, my name's Sammuel Harlow, Sam's fine. I co-own the Harlow Carpentry with Dayton. I mostly enjoy the work and it turns out I'm pretty good at it. The Harlows have always been carpenters as long as we can remember, and I guess it's important to keep the legacy going. Dayton recently called me a "settler" (jokingly of course).
...but it hit a little closer than he may have realized.
Let me introduce myself. I am Sir Chancemier S. Connors, though most people call me Mr. Connors or just Chance. I act as one of the five judges of Layden. We are something like the elders of the city and decide important matters through a voting process. I have had my fair share of trials in my long life, so I am now in a position to impart on those younger than me the wisdom I have gleaned over the years. Recently I have been trying to assure the youngest Harlow boy, Dayton, of his significance in life.
Maybe I am just becoming old fashioned...
You may call me, Levi, leader of the Wind Bandits! Alright, so maybe that name sounds pretty pathetic once you say it out loud, but we're gonna stick with it. As the leader I need to be able to set the example for the others. I'm by no means perfect, but like a good leader I just have to hide that part of me. Actually, I occasionally have a hard time accepting that I'm wrong anyways.
So in the end, it sounds like I'm perfect for this job...
I go by Drake these days. Something interesting about me? Well, this might be surprising, but I'm a sucker for music. I'm honestly the closest one to a bard in our little group. Just because I'm the heavy-lifter for our group doesn't mean I can't occupy another, unrelated position. Stereotypes are really frustrating because they try to generalize others and place them into certain categories. So many take a quick look and think they have seen all there is to see.
What does it take for someone to take a second, closer look?
Just Mel works, that's what the guys call me. I'm the youngest bandit, so I think that's why Drake tries to act like my older brother. Of course, he actually IS my brother-in-law, but well now I'm just talking about him instead of me. I'm really fond of music. Drake is actually teaching me how to play - GAH! I'm talking about Drake again! Alright, talk about someone else. Um...
It's really cute how Levi tries to stay stoic all the time x\\\3
I am the bounty hunter called Ryke, but Ryken von Hoffman the III is my birth name. Apparently it is a running joke that I don't talk much. Truth be told, I am well versed in both the spoken and written word.
I just do not have much to say.
Jon is my full name. Just kidding, Jonathan Summers is me name, I'm sure ya won't forget it! I'm easily the coolest thing in all of Layden. Well, Layden ain't too big a place, but that's at least something! I'm the local Corporal, which means I report to the county Sheriff, who relays it to the district Baron, who then informs one of the nine Earls of the Inner Circle around the King.
So basically, I'm up pretty high!
Hey, I'm Janice Harlow! I'm something of an aspiring scribe. I admit, dad's few books he wrote definitely inspired me initially. Really, I'm quite timid and shy around most people that I'm not familiar with, but my great passion to be a scribe often pushes me out of my comfort zone. I dabble in being a dreamer I suppose, but I'm a firm believer that one must always possess a dream or a goal they should constantly be working towards.
If you already have everything you want, what promise can tomorrow offer?
It's Raymond Harlow, but I normally just go by Ray. I haven't done anything too exciting in my short life, but not everyone has a tale worth being passed down into legends. I do have my name written down in a few books though. Mostly simple stuff like "The Art of Carpentry" and a few others, but there was that one book. I wrote one book under a pen name that portrayed some of my pacifist opinions.
So the most exciting thing I ever did was make fun of a few dogs using a fake name...
Lieutenant Dakota Silvers, of the eastern-most scouting division, reporting. My mission is...oh, it mentions here "top secret." Well since I can't blabber on about all the cool things I'm doing behind the scenes, I'll let you know some more about me. I have a strong passion for my people, the coyotes, and I feel that we've been terribly mistreated over the years, especially under the new wolf monarchy. Several other coyotes have told me that my position doesn't really matter, but I want to show them how wrong they are once I complete this-
HEY! What?! How can you censor me- *click*
My name is...well...I'll just go by Joel for the moment. If it isn't bluntly obvious by now, I have a handful of secrets and a decent bundle of troubles that I've been on the run from for some time now. I have several...limitations...that make me terribly unfit for the life of a refugee. For example, I'm pretty fearful in general and my pa always warned me that I was too pessimistic. It's by some ridiculous sense of luck that's kept me just out of reach of harm's way.
I'm not saying I wish everything was easy, but does life have to be this hard?
Hello, I am Sven Haddock. I've been partnered with Rick on guard patrol here in Fort Cosgrove. Rick's a swell guy, although he does come off as a little of a "Dick" initially (HA! See what I did there? ...no??). I suppose it's cool that Rick became a guard because he wanted to, but growing up the youngest in a large family I didn't have too many options. Joining the guard, hopefully getting knighted one day, and possibly be given my own piece of land is about the only thing I'm looking forward to.
I haven't been a huge fan of guard work though...
Name's Richard Mills, or Rick if you want something a little less formal. Just don't call me "Dick." Do I have something personal against that nickname? N-No! It's just - er...well I find it really annoying that I see no connection between Dick and the name Richard. Now that that's off my chest some more info about me. I'm not gonna shy away from saying it, I became a guard to prove something. I didn't have to pick up the sword and shield, but I was tired of hearing everyone say that I couldn't, so I did.
Of course, I think I'm also trying to prove something to myself...
Please, call me Brother Gideon. I oversee the small, old, little chapel on the front side of Cosgrove. It's nothing special by any means, but it's kept a mostly-leak-free roof over my head. This is the ruined side of town and is home to most of our homeless and downtrodden. While the larger, nicer chapels in the high district focus on sermons, I haven't actually conducted a true service in this place for several years now. Several monks and bishops have some fairly profound things to say, or so I've been told.
I guess I just have more to give than say.
Heya! My name? HA! It's never that simple with me! I like to keep things fresh with a new creative name every so often. Some more recent names I've used include Chance, Charlie, and Caleb. To help keep things straight most people just call me "Coy" though (short for Coyote I guess). That's cool with me since it still keeps with my whole "C____" namin' thing I got goin' on here. Several guys have called me, um..."nay"...uh "navi"..."naive and optimistic" which means "young" and...um, "happy" I think. I suppose I am younger than anyone else I know, but I'm not always happy. I just try not to let the little things get me down.
And as someone really smart once told me, even the big things look small from a certain angle!
Greetings, name's Nicolas Brighton, or Nic for short I guess. I'm one of the few grey wolf soldiers posted here in Layden. We all report to Jonathan Summers, the Corporal of this town; a swell guy to be sure, but...how he ever got that position still amazes me to this day. I did not come to Layden till my family moved here when I was teen, and frankly I've been looking for a good excuse to leave and find somewhere new to go. Certain individuals have a...well...a hard time understanding me it would seem.
Sometimes I feel like I'd be better off somewhere where nobody knows who I really am...
