Look at that! A new chapter header!

I was actually fairly fond of the look and style of the last few chapter headers, with the character out in front of a few comic panels. But I’ve technically changed up the look of the headers every 3 chapters so far too, and sense MitM celebrated 10 years it felt right to keep evolving and shifting instead of just staying with the same. (honestly each header has always been slightly different anyways)

The biggest change up to the chapter header this time around might just be the chapter name though. Initially way, way, way back when I started, I was planning on having all the chapters start with “A…[insert title].” I didn’t really have too much logic behind it other than maybe eventually hitting the end of a “volume 1 (or A)” and then switching it up then. I guess I’m also fond of the shape of the letter A, and found it easy to frame a chapter name in or around it. idk.

Anyways, mostly came down to the “10 year” argument again for me, and figured it was as good a time as any to mix things up. So after all that, I have the new chapter header, title logo, and name! But…well…

…it’s okay I guess…

If I stick with this for next chapter, I think there’s a few things I should finesse :[

Also need to break out my coding skills and make sure I can remember how I’ve been adding new chapters to the archive on the website O.o

It’s finally here!!! After one month off, Mutt in the Middle is back! 😀

…Well, almost back at least.

I’m gonna be gone on a business trip all next week, so I actually won’t be able to get the first page done for next week. I do, however, plan to finish it for the following week, I swear ^^;

I know what you’re thinking, “Really?! You changed the chapter cover again!!” Yes. Yes, I did. Literally the only headers that match each other are Chapter 1 & 2, and that’s only because they were both drawn in the same sitting (and those chapters don’t even match if you consider the original Chapter 1 header, page 10). Well I just tend to think of something new as each header comes along and I end up tweaking them. This time I wanted to accentuate parts of Dakota’s character design for a big, pinup quality. Yeah, his hair and jacket aren’t that long, nor his tail that fluffy, but it was fun to work with. Also, note to self: probably should make sure to mention Dakota’s actual name in this chapter (it’s only been mentioned in my comments and cast page).

This chapter’s a big one. I’m excited to see what happens (cause I didn’t get around to fully mapping out what’ll all happen exactly >.<). Here's hoping it goes off without any major hiccups!

And I have returned!!

Honestly considering another day to update rather than Thursday…

Expect some interesting changes to come this chapter. Obviously already spicing things up with some ink shaded segments on this cover page, but I want to push myself extensively with this chapter. Kinda like how I pushed myself with chapter 2, but 5 won’t drag out as long (thank goodness!)

Yay! New chapter! New character! 😀

Someone commented on how they really liked my “page border” that was used on my original Chapter 1 cover that featured a background rather than a single, unshaded character. So I decided to bring the border back since just a solo character for a cover seemed lacking to me.

Can’t wait to dive into the next chapter :3
