Just some insights into what makes each of my pages tick…

Hey, guess who’s back XD

Yup, here’s this ragtag group again.

I have mixed opinions on how this page came out. The word bubbles feel really disjointed to me at times, some background details got goofed, and a few of the expressions for the characters felt slightly off…

Negative criticism aside, it was fun to come back to these characters, and tease at a new one! :O

A little late maybe, but got it done πŸ˜€

The first two panels and the last panel took a little extra time, but I hope it was worth it. Took a while to also decide on how to do the “flashback” or “memory” panels. I noticed after finishing the page how simple or short the page felt compared to the last couple because not a lot happens on this page. Anyways, random little things i notice as the artist and writer πŸ˜›

Well, next page is up and running.

Had some fun laying out the panels for this page, especially the bottom portion. The middle two panels were also something new that I tried. I wanted to create the large, angled panel to dynamically stretch across the page, but I wanted a very small, symmetrical panel to overlay on the top of it to create a “calm” panel. This, with the addition of Ray placed outside of the panel in the foreground, seemed like an interesting composition to me. But then again, maybe I’m just weird X3

Compared to previous “talkative” pages recently I really wanted to make this page feel quite and tense. Hope that this page is filled with as many moods as I got from drawing it ^^

Yay! Another comic page!

Crammed a lot onto this page. Originally this was gonna pan out over two pages, but I was struggling trying to completely fill those two pages, so I combined this into just one page. I think that the pacing might be a little too fast and hasty still, but I’m mostly content with the final product.

Tried to branch out and get a little creative with this page and the layout and panels. The triangles kinda feel a little awkward and symbolical for some reason to me, but the layout ain’t terrible I suppose…

Apparently there seems to be something of a rivalry between Sam and Dayton :3

Hey everyone! Long time no see……mostly my fault…

College is officially kicking me in the butt, but I have both fists up and fighting back >:D

Anyways, after a page of Dayton and Janice, we’re back to Ray and Chance. Yay, more world story… Don’t worry, I won’t go overboard like in Chapter 1. This is probably one of the only pages in this chapter about stuff like this. Also apparently Dayton’s feelings about Ray are shared in common X3

Fun time getting some more detailed panels in ^^

(and yes, I know the perspective on Mr. Connors’ chair in the bottom left panel is terrible >.<)

Sorry about the late update this week everybody ^^;

There was a lot of writing and rewriting for this page. I struggled for quite a while on the dialogue and all the facial expressions, which I’m still kinda at odds with for some of the results…

Panel layout also took a bit of extra effort. I played with several designs before finally landing on this more ambiguous layout that kinda challenges the reader to pick a conversation to focus on. You can read the panels in β€œorder” jumping between each conversation with each panel, or follow the word bubbles and go through one conversation at a time.

Does it work? Heck, I don’t know, I’m asking you!

Well whatever the case, it was a lot of fun to try a new, edgy idea like this one out πŸ˜€
