Just some insights into what makes each of my pages tick…

Drunken Guards Assemble!! X3

Anyways messed around with the layout for this page for quite a while before landing on this final design.

Quick question: Do you guys like my “sketchy” shading? I began using it around when my comic started taking place at night so that I could create a darker more dynamic source of light. Eventually I obviously plan on making another comic page that will take place during the day, and I was curious if you guys had a preference?

Oh hey there Ryke! Haven’t seen you in what feels like forever 😛

Gosh this page… It took forever to get done.

The finished product doesn’t even resemble the original mockup I made. I was really pleased with how the perspective came out on some of these panels. It was also really fun to do a page mostly devoted to movement and few actual word bubbles :3

Aw, just when Dayton and Mr. Connors thought they were off the hook…

Note to self, don’t ever draw this many tiny characters on one page, WAY too painstaking to illustrate all of them O_o

Definitely one of the more challenging pages, if not for all the small characters, but especially for the perspective. It took me a long time to visualize in my head how each panel should be built, where the vanishing points were, if it should be a one, two, or even three point perspective >.< Can you believe that before starting this comic I never drew my characters in a setting or background. Now all that inexperience is really biting me in the butt, but I'm slowly getting the hang of it. Hooray! First comic of 2015! (almost signed this page with 2014...)
