Just some insights into what makes each of my pages tick…

And they finally emerge from the tunnels. Well now that I’ve spent some time on practicing tunnels and passageways for backgrounds, I have to get back to drawing cities…
Webcomic about a mutt and his friends finding a place in life.

Well, I’m back to slaving away at college once more. This also means I’m back to using the college scanners, for better or worse.
On today’s page I take another shot at the action scene. I still have a lot of improvement to accomplish, but I feel that I am learning. ^^
Aw, just when Dayton and Mr. Connors thought they were off the hook…
Note to self, don’t ever draw this many tiny characters on one page, WAY too painstaking to illustrate all of them O_o
Definitely one of the more challenging pages, if not for all the small characters, but especially for the perspective. It took me a long time to visualize in my head how each panel should be built, where the vanishing points were, if it should be a one, two, or even three point perspective >.< Can you believe that before starting this comic I never drew my characters in a setting or background. Now all that inexperience is really biting me in the butt, but I'm slowly getting the hang of it. Hooray! First comic of 2015! (almost signed this page with 2014...)
Hooray! 40 Pages!!!
It would appear that our bandit friends have a slight problem…
Chase scenes are a lot harder to draw then I expected…
I worked for quite a while on designing and redesigning this page. Oh, and if you haven’t noticed I’m back to my old scanner. I’m not really fond of how grainy it makes the images look, but I guess it’s better than nothing!
So much to say about this page, so let’s jump right in!
First, sorry about not getting this up on Tuesday. I actually had the page done before Tuesday came around, but I didn’t have access to a scanner until late today.
Second, honestly I’m not completely satisfied with this page…I mean it was a challenging page to draw, but the final product was still quite a ways from the original sketch I had based it off. That combined with some inking errors made this a kinda…mediocre…page. Maybe I’ll redo this page one day…
Third, I’m on winter break for the next few weeks, and hopefully I will be able to post more pages than normal. That said, expect possibly an irregular update schedule where I’ll try to post a page as soon as I get it done. I will try to post at least something each Tuesday though.
Fourth (and final!), checkout my new [NOTE!! Now old] site! I had to design a website for my Web Design Class at college and I chose to do a new site built from scratch. I’ve been looking into hosting my own site for some time now and Google apps seemed up for the task (at least for the moment). I won’t be updating it till I get back to college though, so it’s more of a demo right now.
Love to hear your opinions on the new [once again, OLD] site. Check it out at this location: mutt-in-the-middle.appspot.com
Yay! Another page makes it’s appearance!
Just when we thought this conflict between these characters was over, they go and bump into each other again…
Definitely one of the pages that took the longest for me to finish o_O
SO MANY characters and panels and…..rock walls…..
Honestly not too optimistic about getting another page done next week, since that is finals week for me here at college. But who knows, keep your fingers crossed and it might happen………………maybe…
Gosh! How long have I been out!!
Sorry about the irregular update schedule everyone. For the past four weeks I’ve had at least 3, sometimes even 5, projects or exams in each week. O_o
Needless to say, keeping my part-time job and my classes up have been ridiculous. Sadly it’s only gonna get faster from here on out. My classes finish the second week of December, which seems to be racing closer and closer each day.
Ideally I’ll finish a comic page over my short 3-day break for Thanksgiving, but I honestly don’t know how much more I’ll get to do before winter break rolls around…
In today’s comic Drake demonstrates that he is much more than just a dumb muscle-head, and apparently disapproves of being referred to as one…
Trying something new with this page. The middle three panels were literally an experiment with an idea that I had. Seems like it came out alright though.
