Merry Christmas Y’all!
Not really sure what prompted me to do a special Xmas sketch years back when I started MitM, but just because I don’t remember the tradition’s origins doesn’t mean I’m stopping anytime soon x3
Christmas may be wrapping up in the next hour for those on the East Coast, but I’m on the West Coast, so that means I still have 4 more hours to go!! >:D
Inktober Complete! 😀
Really pleased with how Inktober came out this year. I was a little stumped some days what to draw and other days I wouldn’t be finished until late into the night, but overall I really enjoyed it.
All the MitM related Inktober sketches are compiled here. If you want to view the entire month’s works, you can check out my folder on my FurAffinity Account, or scroll through my Twitter Account
Now I’d like to get back to MitM with updates resuming in Sundays; ALTHOUGH, I have been putting more time into starting that YouTube channel I teased during Inktober and have been talking about for awhile. So I’ll see how I can manage my time, but both MitM and Eclectic Fidelity (the YouTube channel) are things I want to get some serious work done with.
We’ll just have to wait and see how they turn out ^^;

Happy New Year Everyone!!! 😀
Sticking with a similarly inspired psychedelic font style that I did for this Christmas extra, I followed up with this piece. There’s just something really fun about making letters near-unreadable and complex (maybe that’s part of the drive behind those ridiculous death metal logos). The water/words are my favorite part of this, but it was fun just freestyling with the tree’s design.
Overall, it’s been a pretty crazy year. For me, I swapped some jobs, moved around some, finished (only) 34 MitM pages, and watched my record collection explode in size ^^;
Speaking of records, I do plan on having an “end of the year” album to talk about for Monday’s LP, but I won’t be able to record and post it till later this week (or possibly just wait till next week to post it and try to focus on the next MitM page for the rest of the week).
But for the meantime, I want to wish everyone out there a very Happy New Year 😀
Merry Christmas Everyone!!!
So I did end up doing a Christmas special page 😀
This year I decided to do something a little different than normal. Normally it’s just a sketch or inking similar to my comic, but I took the drawing I did this year and threw it onto my computer for some fun. After giving it some color and texture, here’s what I came up with. Had a lot of fun doing something new and different, so I might do something similar come New Year’s ^^
Once again, I hope everyone has a splendid Christmas today and make sure to spend it with some loved ones <3
Happy New Year Everyone!!
May 2017 be an even better year for you than 2016.
Personally I’m not a huge “New Year’s Resolution” guy, but there is one thing I like to do. I enjoy naming the music band that had the biggest impact on my year. If you’ve been staying up with my Monday LPs, you might remember I mentioned it was Jethro Tull. Although if I had to pick a “newer” band from my generation, I think I’d say FIDLAR.
If ya never heard them, I’d really suggest them if you like some more punk-styled music. ^^
This year’s Christmas greeting is kinda sad honestly…
While brainstorming some ideas for this Christmas special I knew I wanted to do some elaborate font work, but I wasn’t sure what else. At some point I thought about drawing Janice and then I thought what about drawing all the girls from MitM. I then realized that sadly there was only one other girl to add. Mel.
Several of the characters that I want to introduce later on in MitM are females, but most of them are still a long way off from being introduced. Till then, please forgive my terribly balanced cast roster >.<; Merry Christmas from all the fictional characters of Mutt in the Middle (and of course me too)!!!
So conversation post here (let’s hope someone partakes).
This is the most recent page (114) before I shaded it with pencil. Honestly, to me, this way of inking looks better at this stage than my other way of inking (“shading” like pages 111-113). There is some elements that I really like about the “ink shading” though (pages 111-113), I just feel that I need to do some serious practice with this style.
Any preferences or thoughts???
Alright, so maybe “catastrophe” is an exaggeration. “Experiment gone terribly wrong.” That’s better.
Above is the raw inking portion without any pencil shading. I feel it looks worse in this form…
Also I guess I did technically get some practice by adding some more ink to Chapter 5’s header. The result is below. Even after one botched page and one ruined header, there’s actually still a lot from both that I enjoy and I want to find a more appropriate way to weave more inking into MitM.
Decided to do this special in the same “poster format” as this year’s Christmas.
2016. Wow. This is going to be a big year for me, with graduating from college this coming spring kinda peaking this insurmountable mountain of a year.
Have a Happy New Year everyone!!
